Nescatunga Arts Festival June 5-6 at Alva Recreation Complex Offers Fun for All

ALVA, Okla. -- More than 40 fine artists, handmade crafters and authors have registered for a combined 52 booth spaces for this year’s 55th Nescatunga Arts Festival June 5-6 at the Alva Recreation Complex, 1887 Goldbug Blvd. in Alva, Oklahoma. Booths and fun activities will be at the Pete and Ruth Leslie Fieldhouse.
Any vendors who would still like to be a part of this festival should know that inside booth space extremely limited for the main area with a possible overflow room. There is also booth space available outside the building for those who have tents and a setup for outdoor conditions. Also available is space set aside just for students who would like to show their items but don’t have enough for a full booth. This space is free to students. Any student that would like to have a full 10x10 booth space and compete for prizes against the non-student vendors will need to register and pay the booth space fee. Anyone interested should fill out the registration form soon at www.nescatunga.org. Payment can be made via the mail sending to P.O. Box 152, Alva, OK 73717 or paid online via Nescatunga’s PayPal account at https://paypal.me/NescatungaArts by searching for the email NescatungaArts@yahoo.com within the service.
The festival’s entertainment also is lined up for Friday and Saturday, and food trucks are ready to serve the festival attendees.
Any food truck vendors who would like to be a part of the festival should contact Nescatunga Arts and Humanities Council president Heather Penner at 580-748-1905 or hlpenner91@gmail.com to find out about rules and fees.
The festival will kick off Friday, June 5, from 5-8 p.m. and continue on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Artists and crafters will be open for sale, and live entertainment will be inside the building. A traditional opening ceremony at 9 a.m. on Saturday will kick off the final day of the festival.
Festival T-Shirts for Sale
As a fundraiser for the Council, Nescatunga Arts Festival t-shirts are being sold online. Those interested in purchasing a shirt may do so at https://bit.ly/Festival-Shirt. Shirts will be shipped directly to the address provided. Shirts could possibly arrive in the mail before the festival if purchased by May 15.
Quilt Show
The annual Quilt Show, organized by Helena Leysar, will take place again this year. Anyone who would like to display a quilt in this separate area should contact Leysar at (970) 218-7289 or register online at https://bit.ly/Quilt-Show.
Any questions about the festival, the stipends available to student groups volunteering at the festival, volunteering to provide food items for the Gourmet Food Booth, festival sponsorships or membership to the Council may be directed to Penner.
