ALVA, Okla. – This may be the 55th time to have the Nescatunga Arts Festival in Alva, Oklahoma, but members of the Nescatunga Arts and Humanities Council are offering something new this year for the June 5-6 festival – Arts Festival Bingo!
Everyone attending this year’s festival is encouraged to stop by the information/registration table at the west entrance to the Pete and Ruth Leslie Fieldhouse at the Alva Recreation Complex, 1887 Goldbug Blvd., in Alva, Oklahoma, to pick up a Bingo card that contains the names/booth numbers of the festival vendors.
Festival-goers can visit the vendor booths on the card to obtain the vendor’s “mark,” then when the card is completely “blacked out,” turn the card back in at the information table to be entered in a contest for prizes donated by the booth vendors. Only one bingo card may be entered per person.
All blacked-out Bingo cards must be turned in by 2:30 p.m. on June 6 to be eligible to win. Winners must be present when names are announced at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday. Number of prizes is determined by the number of items collected from the participating vendors.
Registration chair Mary Riegel said several vendors have already agreed to provide items from their booths to make great prizes.
Food Trucks and Inflatable Fun
Two food trucks have confirmed to attend the arts festival on Friday and Saturday – award-winning Oklahoma Food Truck Cutie Pies Concession will have desserts, drinks, and more, and To Go Burger will serve up fun burgers and nachos.
Other food truck owners who might be interested in setting up for the two-day festival should contact Heather Penner at 580-748-1905 for information on rules and fees. A baseball tournament also will take place that weekend bringing even more people to the fields near the arts festival.
Nam and Pops also will be set up providing fun games, weather permitting. Wristbands sold for $3 each will allow kids to enjoy inflatables on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Festival T-shirts
For anyone who would like to order a Nescatunga Arts Festival t-shirt, they are being sold online at https://bit.ly/Festival-Shirt. T-shirts will be shipped directly to the address provided. Shirts may be ordered at any time of the year, but know that any purchases from now until the festival may not arrive before the event.
Quilt Show
The annual Quilt Show, organized by Helena Leysar, will take place again this year. Anyone who would like to display a quilt in this separate area should contact Leysar at 970-218-7289, hel_leysar@comcast.net or register online at https://bit.ly/Quilt-Show. Festival Sponsorships Available
The Nescatunga Council has opened up Sponsorship Levels to help fund this year’s annual festival. Sponsorship packages from $50 to $1,000+ are available with varying levels of incentives. Sponsorships could include donating to help were the Council needs it, or names could be displayed showing a sponsor has provided funds for the Best of Show Award in the fine arts category, or sponsoring the entertainment provided each day, children’s activities, advertising for the festival and more. Sponsors' names will be prominently displayed at the festival and through other public channels. If interested, please contact Penner at 580-748-1905. More information is available at nescatunga.org/festival-sponsorships. Donations are tax deductible.
