Fifteen downtown businesses will be participating in a new event tied to this year’s Nescatunga Arts Festival – Poppin’ Around the Square with Nescatunga.
Knowing that the arts festival generates several people coming to the downtown square, members of the festival committee discussed how to possibly increase the traffic into downtown businesses while people are on the square enjoying the festival.
These businesses have agreed to provide gift cards or other items to be given away in a drawing at 2:30 p.m. Participants do not have to be present to win the prizes.
Punch cards will be available at each participating merchant or from the sound booth at the festival. These punch cards will include the names of all of the downtown participating merchants.
In order to be entered into the drawing, a punch card will need to have three holes punched in their card by a participating business employee to represent three different purchases, whether it be from the same business or three different ones.
Once a card has three holes punched, the card must be delivered to the sound booth by 2:15 p.m. on the courthouse lawn (or the 4 Generations Organic building south of Alva at 2878 College Blvd. if the festival is moved inside) and placed in the provided box.
Businesses participating in this year’s promotion include Alva Nails, Alvatraz, Bate’s Bows, Schuhmacher’s Copper Penny, Daisy Village, Elegant Toad, Farmer’s Co-op, Holder Drug, La-Dee-Da, Lazy Coyote, Merle Norman, Rialto, Scribner’s Mercantile, SPI and Sweet Harper.
